This newsreel dates from December 11th 1924. It shows members of the Boundary Commission beginning, what is described as, a ‘purely informal’ tour of the boundary wall.

Although the names of the commissioners are not given, they are most likely Dr. Eoin Mac Neil, J.R Fisher and Mr. Justice Feetham.

The border wall was a delicate issue and the Irish Boundary Commission was set up and met on numerous occasions between 1924 and 1925 to discuss the exact delineation of the border between the Irish Free State and Northern Ireland. On December 3rd 1925 the final agreement on the border was signed.
