The exact location of the events in this newsreel is unknown, however some of the footage also appears in the “Fall of Limerick” film, where the Strand Barracks is shelled and burned out. This could also be Collins Barracks in Cork.

Other scenes of buildings in ruin and smoke smouldering appear to be of the Four Courts viewed from the North side of the river Liffey to the South side. The final segment shows houses burnt out and destroyed with nothing left but rubble.
