The exact location of the events in this newsreel is unknown, however some of the footage also appears in the Fall of Limerick, where the Strand Barracks is shelled and burned down. This could also be Collins Barracks in Cork.

Other scenes of buildings in ruin and smoke billowing around appear to be of the Four Courts viewed from the north side of the River Liffey to the south side of Dublin. The final segment shows houses destroyed and reduced to rubble.
