Two students hatch a scam to sell the sounds of Irish rivers to a thriving Irish-American based market. But a mysterious message from a spirit scuppers their plan.
While walking by a river bank, the mischievous moguls realised they had the potential to tap into a market of 50 million Irish Americans who needed help sleeping and longed to hear the soothing sounds of an Irish river. Delighted with themselves they sourced finance and rented the best sound equipment but when they listened back to the recordings, their plan suddenly took a dark turn.
Directed by Edel O’Brien, this film in the magic-realism genre looks at the flipside of Celtic Tiger Ireland when greed was good and at the tragedies that could happen when cultural links were broken.
